I can’t believe it has been almost a year already since we’ve moved to Spain. It feels like yesterday and yet it feels we’ve been here forever.
We are finally settled down and have been pretty busy. We spend our time between taking care of our kids and helping our local church. It has been a wonderful experience and the more we do it the more we are certain of our calling to be here. Sure we went through an adaptation period with its challenges but nothing that distracted us from the fulfillment we have as a family to be loving and serving the people God brings in our lives. It’s been pretty awesome. But as much as we love it from time to time we like to have a little get away for our family. We know that we need this time to make sure we are all connected, to recharge ours batteries, and to enjoy fun quality time with our kiddos.
So the other day we went to Andalucía. We stopped in a beautiful town called Nerja. Boy, this town is breathtaking I told Keith we sure need to spend a weekend there. Look at the view.
Then we went to Gibraltar. Do you know that Gibraltar is a U.K. territory? Though it is located on the Spanish peninsula, it is not part of Spain. We actually had to show our passports and the kids got a kick out of the airport runaway that we had to cross over when we arrived and to exit it. Also, the highlight for them was to go on top of the rock and see the monkeys! Monkeys everywhere! They were brought originally from Africa on the boats a long time ago.
How to get down? Well we actually took a van up and down. We were in the line for the cable car but it was taking forever. The tourist guides were offering a good deal for our family (kids didn’t have to pay if sitting on our laps). I am glad we did it. We were able to see a lot with the kiddos.
I know we haven’t kept up with the blog world. Honestly, this past (almost) year was a time for us to adapt and settle. I’ve been posting though some pics and stories on Instagram. But now that we feel we are more in a rhythm you will see more of us here again 🙂 So if you’d like to know what we are up to, check it here and on instagram (yes vida).
Hope you enjoy some of these photos as much as we did 🙂
